Long John Baldry
Served on the "Old
Girl" from 1975-1977, as a member of the ships flight.
Had some GREAT runs
ashore;
Ft Lauderdale, Rio,
New Orleans, Aarhus and Halifax, Nova Scotia,
to name but a few.
Met up with 2 other ex flight members this year, in Weymouth, first time we have got together for 27 years. Would love to find our old aircrew man Billy Briggs. In the photo below is Percy the Danae helicopter which crashed somewhere near Singapore in 1972, the cause of the crash was "Tail Rotor Coupling Failure". The crew were Lt Riley and LREM(A) Parry. The source of this photo is unknown, as I was sent this sometime ago, and my memory fails me as to whom it was from, I do not know the fate of either of the crew, perhaps someone somewhere knows more.
